Project description: The new school building and sports arena of Ogres State Gymnasium is one of the most significant education infrastructure development projects in Latvia. Construction of the 15,000 m² building began in May 2021, with the goal of providing a modern, high-quality learning environment for up to 672 students. The building's layout creates a sense of spaciousness and connects the interior with outdoor space, featuring an inner courtyard that is functionally linked to the adjacent assembly hall. Special attention in this project was given to innovation – on the third floor of the building, students are provided with access to the roof, which will serve as an observatory and a venue for various school events. The first floor contains a lobby, assembly hall, science classrooms, and staff rooms, while the second floor hosts classrooms for mathematics, technology, humanities, and social sciences, along with a methodological center and library. The third floor will house support staff, such as social educators, psychologists, and career consultants, as well as technical rooms. The sports complex offers extensive opportunities for various sports and events, with available seats for up to 1,700 spectators. It includes an athletics arena that meets the requirements of the International Association of Athletics Federations standards, with four circular (200m) and six sprint tracks, as well as sectors for long jump, high jump, pole vault, and shot put. In the center of the arena is a multifunctional team sports court suitable for basketball, floorball, tennis, handball, and volleyball. The sports building also includes spaces for combat training, changing rooms, and coaches' rooms, as well as gyms for fitness, choreography, and gymnastics. This project is a significant investment in the region’s educational development, offering a modern learning environment and sports facilities that meet contemporary standards.
