Project description: Firma L4 provided construction supervision services for the reconstruction of the Dzintari railway overpass and the adjacent infrastructure. The overpass is a key engineering structure on one of Jūrmala’s main roads, crossing the Riga–Tukums railway line and connecting the eastern and western parts of the city. The original architectural design of the overpass, built in 1976, was retained during the reconstruction. The work included the rehabilitation of the load-bearing structures and reconstruction of the roadway pavement structure. By joining the spans, the number of expansion joints was reduced from 21 to eight, resulting in smoother traffic flow and improved operational performance of the overpass. New traffic safety barriers, a stormwater drainage system, and energy-efficient functional and decorative lighting were installed. The area surrounding the overpass was also upgraded. Road surfaces and pedestrian and bicycle paths were renewed, parking spaces and new pedestrian crossings were constructed, and bicycle racks were installed. The reconstruction has improved traffic safety and accessibility for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. Firma L4 provided project construction supervision. At the 2025 Latvian Construction Annual Award, the project won first place in the “Reconstruction of Engineering Structures” category.
