Project description: The students of Valdemārpils Secondary School celebrated the 2024 Knowledge Day at the newly renovated and modern sports field, which, after significant reconstruction, has become a long-awaited, modern place for not only school sports lessons but also for various sports events which will be accessible to all city residents and visitors. The sports field was initially built in 1980, but no significant improvements were made until 2022. During the reconstruction, the running track was renovated, artificial turf was laid on the football field, a gymnastics area was created, spectator stands with 215 seats were installed, and the entire area was landscaped. Athletes are now welcomed not only by high-quality surfaces and diverse sports zones but also by a well-arranged environment – benches, trash bins, bike racks, and a fence with gates for vehicle and pedestrian access have been installed.
