Project completion period: 2023.-2024.
Project description: The reconstruction of the state regional motor road Kocēni–Limbaži–Tūja (P11) section from Lesalkāja to Umurga (27.80–33.07 km) began in the autumn of 2023, involving a full road reconstruction aimed at improving infrastructure and traffic safety. During the reconstruction, extensive groundworks were carried out, including the reinforcement of the soil subgrade, renewing the road structure, and constructing a two-layer asphalt surface. The road section has a strengthening and frost-resistant layer, two layers of gravel (one of which is a recycled mixture), and two layers of asphalt, significantly improving the road's durability and quality. Additionally, a lighted pedestrian walkway was constructed, which is connected to the local municipality infrastructure. Three bus stops were renovated and expanded, with pavilions installed at two of them. The project also included the excavation and cleaning of ditches, the reconstruction of culverts and access ramps to the roadway, and the installation of new road infrastructure, including road signs, safety barriers, signal posts, and road markings. The bridge over the Brasla River underwent expansion joint and asphalt surface restoration, as well as concrete structure repairs and the installation of safety barriers to ensure its durability and safety.
